Formerly the furnace used to be repaired every 8 months.

Barium high temperature salt bath furnace

Kolomensky Zavod, OAO

Lining of salt bath furnace (BaCl2) with chamotte bricks, a special mortar (masonry mortar) and protective coating

Service life of the lining is extended by more than 8 times, the lining MK-72 is changed to chamotte bricks.

After 10 months of operation, 3 upper coursers are changed, lining is still in operation.

Molten salt does not percolate into the lining.

Formerly, the bath used to be repaired every 2-3 months, after application of the proposed materials the bath furnace has operated for 24 months until capital repair.

Lining of boiler with chamotte refractory materials, special mortar (masonry mortar) and protective coating

Service life of the lining is extended by more than 3.5 times.

6.

Hot dip wire galvanizing bath furnace

Masonry performed by means of masonry mortar KR-1 and the protective coating M-1

Furnace has been in operation for 3.5 years, there has been no complaints concerning the lining.

For 42 months of operation there have been no complaints concerning the masonry. Zink does not percolate into masonry. Furnace is still in operation.

Forge furnace lining

Lining with chamotte refractory materials, special mortar KR-1 and protective coating M-1

Furnace has been in operation for 2 years.

Electric arc furnace crowns

Lining of furnace crowns with magnesian refractory materials, masonry mortar KR-KhP-1 and protective coating M-KhP-1

Service life extended by 1.5-2 times.

 

9.

Rotating chamotte burning furnaces No.2

Lining of unloading area with KR-1 and protective coating M-1

Period between repairs is significantly extended. Low abrasive wear.

Furnace has been in operation since Jan. 25, 2008 up to the present time without any repairs of unloading area

10.

Rotating cement kiln No.6

Oskoltsement, OAO

Lining of cooling area with KR-1 and protective coating M-1

For 176 days of kiln operation the lining has worn by 15 mm instead of 70 mm

Abrasive wear has decreased by more than 4 times. Kiln is still in operation.

Note: repair of linings of cooling units of rotating cement kilns with masonry mortar KR-1 shall extend the service life by more than twice.

Since Feb.13, 2008 the blast furnace DP-3 have been in operation, there have been no complaints concerning the repaired areas

Reduction of temperature from 450°С to 75-100°С

Furnace has been in operation since Feb. 15, 2008 and there have been no complaints.

Filling the pores formed in the process of operation not shutting down the boiler

Heat insulating layer has been restored in 10 minutes after the filling, and ash eruption through the seams has stopped
